WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FEEL WEAK

February 3, 2023

For this is what the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said:
“In repentance and rest you will be saved,
In quietness and trust is your strength.”
But you were not willing.
Isaiah 30:15

STEP 1 – SET AND MAINTAIN A QUIET TIME. There are disciplines that create delight. What has helped me greatly is a morning devotion time where I start my day in the Bible and spend time alone with the Lord before the busyness. I put my phone away and keep the TV off.

STEP 2 – PRAY IN THE SPIRIT AND PRAY GOD’S WORD. “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God” (Jude v. 20-21a). Our response to the intensity of life is to keep building ourselves up in faith by praying in the Spirit. There have been times when my brain felt like a bag of hammers, and I didn’t know what to pray, but I could still pray in tongues. You can renew your mind by finding scriptures to pray out. The prayers of the epistles are awesome to pray over yourselves, your family, and your pastors (Here are a few prayers I love: Ephesians 3:14-19, Ephesians 1:17-19, Colossians 1:9-12).

STEP 3 – HAVE A VICTORY MENTALITY. “From weakness were made strong” (Hebrews 11:34b). Because of Jesus, we have been shifted from a victim mentality to a victory mentality! As an overcomer, your strength is in God. It is not in yourself. Whatever you’re facing, God has answers for your situation. So, let’s get strong in the Lord. Like Paul said in the book of Romans, we realize that in all these things, we are more than conquerors (8:37). As turbulent or as anxiety-producing things may feel, we can trust the Lord. He is faithful, and He is trustworthy.

PRAY THIS STRENGTHENING PRAYER:
God, I love You. I pray that You would fill me with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so that I will walk in a manner worthy of You, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You. I pray that I would be strengthened with all Your glorious power, according to Your glorious might, for attaining all steadfastness and patience. Please fill me with Your joy and thank You for enabling me to live in the light and share in Your inheritance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
