Happy New Year!
December 31, 2015I will cry to God Most High, to God who accomplishes all things for me. Psalm 57:2
1. GET READY. “Lord, what do You want me to do?” (Acts 9:6 NKJV). We want to find out what God has purposed for this next year, both as a church and as individuals, and then believe Him for the boldness and courage to accomplish it. This is not of human manufacture, but rather complete reliance on the strength and wisdom that God supplies.
For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay. Acts 13:36
2. TAKE AIM. This hopeful scripture totals the ups and downs of David’s life into one statement: “He served the purpose of God.” In everything we do, we are aiming toward Jesus’ purposes.
3. FIRE FORWARD. You can take aim on God’s purposes this year and bust out into all that God has for you. Don’t think that missed opportunities or the indiscretions of your youth have ruined your destiny. God’s mercies are new every morning. If you listen to Him, you’ll find your way to people who need the prayers you pray, the message you voice, and the gift you have.
Aim high!
Pastor Jeff
PRAY THIS PRAYER
Here am I, Lord. Send me. Speak through me. You are the author and finisher of my faith. Reveal what You have for me to do in 2016. Order my steps (Hebrews 12:2, Psalm 37:23). Pull me out of depression and lethargy. Help me to walk on fire for You, in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.
