GETTING REHYDRATED

October 25, 2024

O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. My soul is satisfied. Psalm 63:1, 5a

MIRACLE WATERS. Jesus always has been and will be the only true satisfaction in all of life. When God freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, He also sustained them with food and water along the way, causing water to pour from a rock. That same God is faithful to all generations. If God can keep three million people hydrated and fed in the desert, He can sustain us as well. Jesus is our rock, gushing living water with all the provision we need (1 Corinthians 10:4).

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. Psalm 23:1-3

QUIET WATERS.
Jesus is our shepherd. Traditionally, shepherds look for nutritious grass to feed their sheep and quiet waters to satisfy their thirst. Jesus wants to do the same for you – to hydrate your soul where it’s been parched – to take care of you and lead you to green pastures and quiet waters.

Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:37-38

LIVING WATERS. How significant it is to be tethered to and in love with Jesus! We know He is always full on in love with each one of us. He dignifies instead of belittles, forgives instead of accuses. If you’ve gotten dehydrated – where you find yourself sluggish, cranky, dried out – you can go to the Source and get gushing torrents of life-giving refreshment flowing through you again. You’re designed to be fully watered so that you can help others know the Good Shepherd too.

PRAY THIS PRAYER:
Lord, You are my Shepherd and I shall not want. You make me lie down in green pastures; You lead me beside quiet waters. You restore my soul. Thank You for rivers of living water flowing out of me and that the water You give becomes a well of water springing up to eternal life. I love You, Jesus! (Psalm 23:1-3; John 7:37-38, 4:14)

God bless you,
Pastor Jeff Perry
