From Fear to Faith!

July 2, 2022

Peace I [Jesus] leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

Jesus told us not to let our hearts be troubled or fearful because He knew there would be opportunities to do so. The cure for despair is to take practical steps to move from fear to faith. When confronted with a challenge, we have a few options: (1) be apathetic; (2) freak out; or (3) get busy in faith.

1. REMEMBER. We can shift our eyes off our problems and onto a promise-keeping God by remembering what God has done for His people in the past. That God is our God, and He is faithful to a thousand generations. So start writing down and articulating the things God has done for you! Remind yourself often of how good God has been to you.

I shall remember the deeds of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will meditate on all Your work and muse on Your deeds. Psalm 77:11-12

2. PRAISE. It’s okay to cry out to God and tell Him what you’re struggling with, but don’t stay stuck there—instead, transition into an attitude of faith and praise. Start praising God out loud. Thank Him for all the times He’s been faithful to you and praise Him for all His wonderful attributes.

3. FIGHT. Jesus was tempted in the same things we deal with, yet He never sinned. He fought the fight with the Word of God. When we get challenged, we can go to the Word and build our faith. Don’t give in—press past the oppression that is hitting you. Stand on the promises of God and come against fear and unbelief in the Name of Jesus. God has good plans for your future!

Keep pressing on!

Pray this prayer:
Jesus, I put You first in my life. I love You. You are so faithful. Your way, O God, is holy; what god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples (Psalm 77:12-13). Thank You for all the times You have rescued me in the past. I trust You with my future! In Jesus’ Name, amen!

re·mem·ber, verb.
To bring to mind or think of again. To keep in mind for attention or consideration. To retain in the memory.
