Increased Expectation, Part 2

I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:1-4

When you face challenges in life, you can choose to hide out, bury your head in the sand, and get depressed, or you can turn to the promise-keeping God. Our help doesn’t come from our flesh or from our creative ideas—it comes from the Lord. Look to Him! Not one of His promises has ever failed.

Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one of them is missing. Isaiah 40:26

I love going outside and looking at the stars. Recognizing the Creator of the stars can help get you out of cynicism and make you expectant of what He wants to do in your life. Instead of dreading what’s ahead, put your expectations back on the promises of God and believe for better and greater things. Staring at your problems will only wear you down. Instead, gaze at God your Helper and only glance at your problems.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2

When you live in the reality that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6) and that favor surrounds you as a shield (Psalm 5:12), it will take the toxicity and sourness out of your thinking so that you can fully expect blessing to happen all through your life, move in a strong spirit of faith, and be the dynamic world-changer God has called you to be.
